Animals are our brothers and sisters and the keepers of being
Animals are no soulless live machines. They are like us, Sthey are our brothers and sisters, feeling as we do, making nonsense as we do, enjoying as we do. And they even mourn as we do. Hoewever, there is a big difference: they simply are. They are the keepers of being, are always in the present – maybe without knowing it: enlightened beings. Animal welfare to me means that we afford these adorable creatures a happy life, happy in the sense that they can be themselves instead of spending a miserable existence as objects of use.
